Enrichment Opportunities

“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”

Steve Jobs

At Blakehill , enrichment opportunities provides our children with new and varied activities that provide them with new experiences, extend their learning, making school life more fun and ultimately pursuing their wider goals.
Our curriculum ensures they are taught and learn a range of skills which can be linked to other areas of the curriculum.

In Year 1, the children designed and made their very own worry dolls. This linked in with their class English text.
Year 3 chose a range of sandwich fillings to taste to help them decide on the best healthy options for  planning, designing and making their own healthy sandwiches. Some fillings were delicious, others not so much!
They also taste a range of bread types before creating their own healthy sandwiches.
In Year 4, the children have been investigating and evaluating different types of bread. We looked at the texture, taste, smell, appearance and then rated them out of 10. Pitta bread was the class favourite!
