Parental Involvement

Every parent, guardian and carer can help inspire their child to develop the confidence they need to succeed in Writing, for example by:

• helping them practice their spellings.

• attending one of our Phonics Workshops in KS1.

• showing your child that you like writing, giving them the confidence they need to enjoy it too.

• giving your child real opportunities to write at home e.g. a shopping list, a thank you letter, a postcard, an email, an invitation etc.

• looking for interesting words and talking about their meanings when reading together or  watching television.

• looking out for spelling, grammar or punctuation mistakes when out and about (misplaced  apostrophes are always a good one to look out for!)
