First day in Year 2
We have had a lovely first day back at school, we have enjoyed seeing all our friends again. We have worked hard writing riddles about ourselves in English, playing team games in PE, learning a new song in Music and imagining and building a perfect classroom in PSHCE. The children described their perfect classroom which included ‘lots of wild animals, plants and books’ - which certainly does sound perfect, The children also discussed how they could make promises to be helpful, kind and friendly and shared ways in which we could look after our classroom too.
Saltaire Workshop
Year 2 had a lovely morning learning all about Saltaire. They learnt about what life was like during the Industrial Revolution and learnt about Sir Titus Salt and the impact he had on many people's lives.
Saltaire Trip
Year 2 went on an exciting adventure into Saltaire. They explored the village and looked at famous landmarks from the past. Children looked closely for Titus Salt's initials around the village and spotted lots of different houses. They found the overlookers house, the workers houses, dining hall, Salts Mill and Robert's Park. This was great day for all!
Christmas Nativity - Knock, Knock, the Nativity
What a busy half term Year 2 have had so far. They have worked their socks off by learning some songs, their lines and remember when to come on the stage. The children have shown off their talent and retold the nativity story. It was enjoyed by all!
