Swimming at Blakehill Primary School
Pupils at Blakehill Primary School learn to swim in Year 4. All pupils reveive weekly swimming instruction for a full academic year. Pupils are provided with specialist small group teaching to help them reach the nationally expected level of 25 meters. Children are taught a number of different strokes and given opportunities to become proficient in these strokes throughout their time in Year 4.

51% of children are able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of least 25 meters.
42% of children are able to use a range of strokes efficiently.
