Autumn Term

In art we have started our study of Saltaire. We used graphite to make big drawings of buildings and monuments found in Saltaire.
Using Base Ten to make numbers!
PE in the sunshine.
Welcome to Year two!
We know what odd and even numbers are!
Our first time in the ICT suite today. We had fun.
Playing musical instruments today.
Practising the 'air' phoneme.
Ordering numbers in maths.
Today we worked with artist Tim. We had a go at recreating Barbara Hepworth's Family of Man which is on display at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Here are a few pictures to show you how our sculptures progressed over the morning...
Making music in 2S.
Last week in phonics we practised writing sentences using 'er' 'ur' and 'ir' words. We also really enjoyed a roll and read challenge!
Another day another daily mile!
At last! After a lot of hard, messy work... Our Barbara Hepworth Family of Man sculptures are finished!
This week in 2S the birthday hat has been very busy as TWO of our girls turned 7! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We were very lucky to be visited by Mrs Dolley, a resident of Saltaire 170 years ago! She was very funny and full of facts. She told us all about what the living conditions were like before Titus Salt.
Sports Festival 2020. Well done to all the children who took part. A rainbow even came out to watch!
We painted pictures from the book 'Peace Lily'. We have been reading this book to help us learn about Remembrance Day.
We though about how Lily's feelings changed in the story 'Peace Lily'. We completed an axis of emotion to help us to understand this.
We are learning our Times Tables by playing TT Rock stars. It's great fun!
After reading our Little People Big Dreams book about Martin Luther King we created a freeze frame. We thought about how different characters would feel in this situation.
This afternoon we had a bike ability lesson. It was GREAT fun! We practised riding our bikes small like mice, tall like giraffes, slow like slugs and fast like cheaters! Some of us even pretended to be elephants and lifted one hand off the handlebars!
Thanks to the creativity of the children our Christmas classroom door display is finished!!
As part of our learning about black history we did a portrait of Martin Luther King, we've definitely got some amazing young artists in this class!
This week in Science we have been testing different materials to see which we can bend, stretch and squeeze. Then we had to make a conclusion on whether the changes we just made were reversible or irreversible.
Our classroom elf has arrived!
Music
We took part in Bradford Music and Arts Winter Virtual Festival. See if you can spot us!
Christmas party day today!
