Can pictures come to life?
Using a lever and slide, year 1 created a moving character picture.
The children linked this design to the story The Bad-Tempered Ladybird, which they have been learning about in their English lessons.

How far will your toy go?
Year 2 have been busy making a simple rolling toy for themselves. 
They have linked this to their learning of science by identifying and comparing the suitability of everyday materials and using their mathematical knowledge of measurement and movement to make their toy move.
How can air produce movement?
Year 3 have been exploring how things move in science. They have linked this unit of learning to design and make a moving robot using pneumatic systems in design technology.
Can a book come to life? 
Year 4 have been creating an information book with moving features using levers, sliders, paper spring, lift up flap and a rotator to inform their audience about World War 2. 
Year 5 - Can you make a mine cart that moves using electricity?
Year 5 used prior knowledge from year 4 on how to build a circuit to enable them to design and create their own moving mine cart.
Year 6 - Can you design and make a fairground ride that moves?
Following their trip to Blackpool in the Autumn term, Year 6 researched, planned, designed and made their own fairground rides.
