What we have been up to...
3H visited Bradford Cathedral to learn about the Christian religious building. Whilst we were there, we looked at the different features of a church including the font, pulpit, pew and lectern. We also looked at the different signs and symbols of Christianity before making our own mosaics. We had a great time!
3H went on a visit to the Synagogue where we were given a talk and learnt all about the Jewish religion.
We had a visit from Nav who taught us about the Indian drums from Punjab. After that, he taught us some Indian dance moves such as screwing the light bulb.
As part of our outdoor PE, Steve, a cricket coach, from local club Bolton Villas has been working with Year 3 and introducing the children to the main skills used in cricket. Here are some pictures of the children practicing their fielding and bowling before playing a quick game at the end.
During Mastery Maths week, 3H spent one of our maths lessons in the hall taking on some mastery style problems. We worked in pairs and developed our reasoning and problem solving skills.
3H enjoyed the afternoon at Bradford City FC taking part in a positive lifestyle workshop. When we arrived we met Claire and before we started the workshop, we were lucky enough to go and sit in the pitch side dugouts. The children took up the challenge (successfully) of being louder than 3R when they shouted COME ON CITY! After a quick chat, we headed to lifestyle classroom where the children introduced their partners. 3H then got into teams and completed a range of tasks which included thinking about their similarities and differences and tasting a range of fruits from around the world. Everyone worked really hard and had a great time.
