In English, the children have completed conscious Ally. It has been a great way for children to infer about the charters emotions.
We have started our lesson on rounders in P.E. Year 4 had to think about throwing with accuracy and catching. It was a great way of practicing our hand an eye co-ordination ready for our first look into rounders.
The children have been looking at putting the skills learnt so far into their first mini rounders game. As you can see they did a brilliant job!
In PHSCE, the children have been very busy looking at personal space and reading warning signals. They disused how to stay safe and explored the personal barriers of others. Finally, they talked about why they may feel more comfortable with certain people.
The class have been very busy looking at language and the meaning behind it. They worked in pairs to discus and agree on which vocabulary went with the correct meaning.
In science, the children have been investigating danger to living things. This week we looked at the effects and impact that change makes on these animals. The children have been researching pond life and what changes will be made to it over time. We will be writing a letter based on our finding to support our understanding further.
Year 4 have been learning about the different notes on the recorder. So far they have learnt how to play notes A, C, D and E. We have also been looking at how to create the best sound when playing the recorder.
Year 4 made a fantastic effort in their final rounders game this week. They have learnt many skills over the half term that have lead up to this final game. The children have learnt so many key skill over the half term such as; hand and eye co-ordination, teamwork, hitting and catching a ball.
We have been working with a coach to practice our cricket skills this week. The children have focused on there hand and eye co-ordination, throwing, catching and batting. They looked and a number of ways to throw the ball effectively and built up to batting and bowling.
The children have been looking at being safe online. They discussed what happens when a picture is deleted and if it really is deleted. The children have taken pictures and edited them, they then discussed if this would be appropriate to share online. They have been working on what information is being shared and what can be shared unintentionally.
In English this week the children have been looking at a fact files and how to create one. They have been busy researching the main men on the ship of the Endurance at the time of Shackleton's Journey. We talked about what they would need to put into this to make this successful and what evidence was relevant to research.
The children have been busy practicing their sewing skills this week. They had to thread the needle and learnt how to tie a knot. They have been looking at how to complete a straight stich and what makes it successful. They have done a brilliant job and are now ready to start making their Roman purses.
The children did a fantastic job at sports day this year. They showed really determination and resilience. We are very proud of how hard they worked and pushed themselves.
The children have had an exciting Science lesson today. They have been investigating how the digestive system works and the process our food takes through the body. It was very messy but they had a brilliant time!
In Science we have planned an investigation on tooth decay. We have used a variety of liquids and placed egg shells inside to see what will happen. The children have made predictions about each one and over the next few days will analyses their results.
