Summer Term

We had lots of fun working on our ball skills in PE today. We used tennis balls to practise bouncing, balancing, passing, catching, dribbling and retrieving the ball.

A busy afternoon in Reception planting our vegetable seeds. Some great teamwork involved in preparing, planting and watering. We can't wait for them to grow!
Watercolour Minibeasts!
We have some great budding artists in RP! Today we have really enjoyed making careful observational drawings of minibeasts and then painting them using watercolour paints. We are very proud of our work!
Chris from Zoolab visited Reception and brought lots of his exciting friends with him! First we met Gary the African Land Snail and found out lots of interesting facts about him. We also met Milton the Giant African Millipede, Athena the Chilean Rose Tarantula, Max the Madagascan Hissing Cockroach, Twiggy the Stick Insect from the Phillipines and Sammy the Scorpion from South East Asia! We even got the chance to hold and touch some of the animals and learnt lots of new facts. Did you know that a scorpion is luminous in the moonlight? Or that a snail has more teeth than a shark? Or even that the word millipede means a thousand legs?
Jubilee Celebrations!
We had a fabulous day celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of our queen! We loved finger printing our very own Union Jack flags in preparation for the celebrations and had a fabulous time at our royal tea party. There was even a very special guest!
Thornton Hall Farm
We loved our visit to Thornton Hall Farm. The tractor safari was really exciting and we even saw a baby deer in the fields! It was lovely to meet, feed and pet the farm animals and we had lots of fun in the sunshine. A big thank you to the parents who joined us and the amazing staff, who all helped make it such a perfect day!
Sports Day
Super proud of all our children at Sports Day this morning - great attitude and team spirit! A big thank you to all our families who came to support us too.
