Spring Term

We have enjoyed our work on making patterns with 3D shape.
We have also been finding lines of symmetry on 2D shapes and making symmetrical shapes and patterns. We used mirrors to help us.

As part of our work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we made cabbage soup. Charlie and his family are so poor they have to eat it everyday. We’re glad that we have a more balanced diet!

As part of our work on human stages of growth, Ben’s mum brought in baby Zac and Isabelle’s mum brought in her toddler, Blake. We prepared some questions to ask about what babies and toddlers can do and how to look after them. We loved having them in the classroom and they were both very well behaved!

In science we have been finding out about the life cycles of animals. We used 'Swiggle' to search for appropriate websites on our ipads. We then made mini-books to show the different stages of life of frogs and butterflies.
In our indoor PE sessions we have been practising our athletic skills with Mrs Marsden. This week we have been working on the push throw to develop our shot put skills.
In outdoor PE Miss Dobson has been teaching us to use our star points to help us jump for distance. We worked with a partner to measure how far we had jumped.
We had a fabulous time at the chocolate factory in York! We found out about the history of chocolate and tasted different chocolates. We were chocolatiers for the day and made and decorated our own white chocolate lollipops and chocolate orange bars.
We have loved our work on Roald Dahl and his stories this half-term and have worked hard at home on these amazing projects!
Today we have had our penalty shoot out. Billy Bantam came in from Bradford City and we took penalties against him. We asked our family and friends to sponsor us to raise money for our school.
