Enrichment opportunities

Enriching our Curriculum

To develop and extend our children's passion for Geography, we regularly carry out whole school projects in addition to our planned curriculum.

Fieldwork

We use the area around our school and further afield to provide our children with hands on learning experiences. We feel it is important to allow them the opportunity to apply their class based learning.

Mapwork

As a school we believe that the use of model and images is crucial to embedding good understanding. We make use of maps throughout school and allow children to become more confident and experienced with different maps as they continue their academic career with us. By the time our children leave at the end of Year 6, they have used a variety of different maps for different purposes and have had experience developing their own map drawing skills.
