Design Technology Across School

Design Technology across school

To showcase the incredible work done at Blakehill, each class shares the children's work in a class floorbook, which can be found in every classroom.

Design Technology work and projects can be found in children's topic books, the class floor book and on the website under 'The Curriculum' tab and on class pages

Mechanisms

Each year group complete a themed card to take home at the end of the term. We use the mechanism element of the design technology curriculum to teach and create the cards. Each year group has a different mechanism to focus on, they recap previous skills and show the progression of skills through each year group.

Textile Week

Once a year we hold a Textile Week at Blakehill. During this week children focus on developing their textiles skills. These skills include, sewing, joining and weaving. In the Spring term we will create a whole school Easter project to showcase the sewing skills taught through school.
