Autumn 1 is a very busy half term, with much of our time spent preparing for our residential to Ingleborough Hall in Clapham village. Having spent the week there, doing a wide range of activities including gorge scrambling, caving, tree climbing, the village study and long walk, we return to write comparative reports comparing Idle and Clapham.
We had the opportunity to have a go at cycling with a former member of the Sky cycling team! It really improved our skills and was lots of fun!
We took part in the annual obstacle course! It was lots of fun, we got some exercise and we raised some money too!
In music lessons we have been learning to play the ukulele! It is lots of fun and we are getting better all the time!
In MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) lessons we have begun to learn how to speak German! We can already introduce ourselves to other people!
On a Thursday afternoon we have a fantastic art session with Mrs Marsden! She is a wonderful artist and our skills are developing rapidly!
In computing lessons we have been developing our computer programming skills using 'Scratch'.
We loved drumming sessions! Some of us might even start having lessons!
We had a fantastic day at the Yorkshire Mining Museum! It has made us very excited to complete our local history topic!
On Wednesday 12th December we went to St. Cuthbert’s church in Wrose to take part in a Christingle service for our families. We enjoyed singing the hymns and some of us gave readings too.
