Blakehill was lucky enough to be selected to be part of the Bike Friendly Schools Project. In 2P we
really enjoyed the workshops and had great fun improving our cycling skills.
We had great fun taking part in our Art Day. Sharon came into school and showed us how to use different materials such as graphite and ink based paints. We tried out lots of techniques and did some Mindfulness Artwork, using music to inspire us!
As part of our work on Christianity, we visited St Cuthbert's church to see the Bible Times Exhibition. Mr Frowd told us all about the different bibles and other special things. We had great fun exploring and answering the questions in our booklets.
Sponsored Obstacle Course
We had a fantastic time completing the obstacle course and raising money for school.
Some of our parents came to watch and we all cheered each other on!
We really enjoyed our visit to Saltaire. We found out all about Sir Titus Salt and what life would have been like for people who lived in Saltaire in Victorian times. In the afternoon we made observational drawings of some of the important buildings in Saltaire.
Our Cenotaph Visit
We visited Eccleshill Cenotaph as part of our work on the First World War and Remembrance. We made a wreath and laid it at the cenotaph to say thank you and pay our respects.
We had a fabulous time at the Reception and KS1 Cosy Pyjama Disco! We played lots of games and took part in dancing competitions. We ate tasty treats and even had a foam machine!
We enjoyed dressing up for Children In Need and collected £32!
In ICT we have been learning to 'Touch type' using Dance Mat Typing. We have been practising placing our fingers on the correct keys so that we can type more quickly.
In PE we have loved learning a dance to 'Thriller' with Mrs Marsden.
We have loved practising and performing our Christmas production, The Innspectors. We had lots of lines and tricky songs to learn but we worked hard and did a brilliant job! The production was about a group of inspectors who visit the inns in Bethlehem and come across Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus in a stable.
