Today we learnt how to ride bikes! We all began on balance bikes and then progressed to riding with pedals and no stabilisers!
Mrs Wardell has been challenging us in Maths! We have been problem solving with our friends.
We enjoyed a walk around the local area looking for signs of Jowett car history.
In English we have been focusing on the Tiger Who Came To Tea text.
We acted out the story with our peers and performed it to the rest of our class.
We loved our day at Bradford Industrial Museum. We spent time looking and drawing the Jowett cars. We found out about the old machines and how they produced power to make all the machines in the factory work.
We also took part in a 'Washday Workshop'. We learnt how they used to do their washing in the olden days. It was very hard work!
We had great fun learning how people used to wash their clothes when we were at Bradford Industrial Museum. It was hard work scrubbing the collars and using the posser in the dolly tub!
We have had a wonderful time exploring colours linked to the four seasons by using different materials. Sharon shared the gorgeous book 'The Story Orchestra, Four Seasons in One Day' to really inspire our creativity. We have used graphite to create lines, pattern and shade. To add colour we also used block paints, chalk and oil pastels.
In our English work we have really enjoyed reading the story 'How to Find Gold' by Viviane Schwarz. We began by predicting what we thought the story would be about by only looking at one illustration. We then looked closely at the main characters, Anna and Crocodile. We sequence the story in pictures before finally retelling the story in our own words.
To support our English work around 'How to Find Gold' Mrs Marsden helped us to create our own underwater pictures using oil pastels and a coloured wash in our art lesson. We think the final results are fantastic!
