Welcome Session 1
What a fabulous morning we have had at our first Reception Welcome Session. Our lovely children had a busy time both in and out of the classroom and some stayed for lunch with their parents. We can't wait to see the children back in school next week when they start school full time!
Welcome Session 2
It was wonderful to meet more of our new children and their parents today at our second welcome session. Great to welcome some new parents to our school and lovely to see some familiar faces! The children had a brilliant morning exploring the setting, meeting the staff and making new friends.
Welcome Session 3
Today's children again had lots of fun at their welcome session! We enjoyed making new friends in the sunshine, sharing a story and exploring our new classroom. Pizza day today so everyone particularly enjoyed their lunch!
Welcome Session 4
Another fabulous welcome session for our Reception children! Everyone was kind and helpful towards staff and new friends and we had some brilliant helpers at tidy up time! We can't wait to see all our new children in school full time!
Welcome Session 5
Everyone had a great morning at our final welcome session! The children were amazing and were very busy again exploring the setting and making new friends. Lots of fun was to be had outside, in the home corner, at the dough table, the painting easel and mark making table. We can't wait now until our class are all together in school!

Our First Week in School
We are delighted to say that all of our children are now in school and would like to share these photographs with you to show how busy we have been!
Dough Disco
We have been practising our dough disco moves each day to help build up our strength for writing. We have been squeezing, rolling and patting our dough, then letting our each of our fingers go crazy in time to the music!
Cosmic Yoga Handwashing
Handwashing is an important part of our day in Reception and it needs to be done correctly! Our new children practised by taking part in some Cosmic Yoga with Jamie and tried to remember all six actions when washing our hands - palms, backs of hands, between fingers, nails, thumbs and drying!
Autumn Walk / Maths - Sorting
The children in RP were set a home learning challenge to go on a local walk with their parents to find some autumn treasures! On Friday they were sent home with a little bag to fill with items they collected from the garden, street, the woods or the park. This could include colourful leaves, conkers, pine cones or anything else relating to autumn. Whilst gathering the items they were asked to consider think about what natural objects they found, what they noticed about them, what they looked and felt like and how they could be sorted in different ways into two or more groups. We loved sharing our bags with the class in school and finding different ways to sort our treasures!
Halloween
What a scary bunch in RP! We have loved dressing up for non-uniform day today.
Phonics
We have been busy in Phonics using our robot arms to orally blend and segment words. We loved posting them into our robot postbox.
Phonics - 't'
We had lots of fun in Phonics today writing 't' on our T-Rex footprints!
Handwriting
Fabulous 'd' formation from our children following our phonics session today!
Whoops a Daisy Angel!
We had great fun practising for our Christmas performance and then performing for our families! We had lots of songs to learn and those of us with lines remembered them perfectly. Our grown-ups were all very proud of us!
