PE and Sports Premium Funding in Primary Schools

SPORTS PREMIUM FUNDING

The government provides funding jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, to see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. As a school we have been allocated £19,540. This is broke down to £16,000 as we have more that 17 pupils with and additional £10 per child from years 1 to 6.

At Blakehill Primary, we recognise the significant contribution of PE to the health and well-being of all children. In addition, we believe that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities to have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all children.

Use of the funding at Blakehill Primary

The money will be used to benefit all children regardless of their sporting ability. We will continue to place a high priority on our PE provision and have invested in additional staffing and resources to further enhance the PE curriculum and promote a healthy and active lifestyle for all.

At Blakehill we are committed to further improving our sports provision and as such, we monitor the impact this funding has in our school very closely. Should you have any suggestions/comments to make or indeed have skills and knowledge that would be valuable to our children, please feel free to contact the school.

Key indicators

Schools should use the Sport Premium Funding to improve the following 5 Key indicators (takes from the PE and sports premium document):
